Tangled layer book

Good morning friends.
I haven't been keeping up with my blog recently. Time just seems to flit on by. I am coming to the final stages of my training program so the pressure is beginning to mount up.
But, I have had a few moments to play and have been making some flowers using the new Tim Holtz Thinlits die.
I even think these look pretty cool unmade too so will be having a play sometime soon.

Susan joined me in the studio and snaffled a couple of my book cover kits and began to experiment with layers of DecoArt Crackle paints, Pastes, Metallic Lustres, Fluid acrylics and a bit of Distress ink for good measure too.

She decided she didn't want such a thick book so she added the covers to a thinner sketch book and this is the result. Isn't it pretty? This is Tangled Layer (Part of the twin pack of covers) and the heart embellishment was made from the Sizzix Primitive Hearts die.

As you can see, some of the flowers I made ended up on this little journal before I had a chance to use them! They look pretty though so I won't complain......

A strip of vintage lace covers the spine of the sketch book.
And this is the back cover.
Pretty awesome I think. I've a few more books that we've been making finished too, just need to find the time to photograph them! Until then, I had better get myself ready for Sunday's class at The Artistic Stamper!

I love the flowers on the heart and the Tim flourish stencil on the back of the book looks great too.
