Book box

Hi there friends
I hope you are well. This morning I have to say I was surprised to see the white stuff falling this morning; you can tell I was sleeping when the weather report was on! Still, it gave me the chance to finish off a book box that I've had unfinished for ages now.
I used black card with loads of Perfect Pearl powder and water on the outside of the box, it gives a lovely metalised appearance which I loved. Before fixing it to the box I stuck part of an old computer board to the box and tore the card to allow it to "push" through I used a piece of chain to join two of the flaps together and hung a steampunk style charm to it.
I cut card to fit the sides if the box and I used my hatched background stamp and a clock stamp to add detail to the sides of the box and inked everything with Black Soot and Walnut stain Distress ink.
Inside is a mixture of elements, from had made paper, old "pipework", chain and a caged heart.
The pipes were from a build your own straws set, painted gold and silver and aged with bitumen. The heart is a shattered stains grunge heart and is in a cage that was originally a Christmas decoration filled with jelly beans.
Lurking in the shadows is the gentlemen from IndigoBlu - Pomp and Pageantry stamp set.
You can just see peeking out a binocular and watch charm which I think are pretty cool.
The words are written on brown card, Deep in the shadows of the heart dwell our dreams.

I am pleased with how it came out in the end, and as it fits the bill I'm entering this into Smudgy Antics - Anything but a card challenge.

Hope you all have a good and creative afternoon too.

Wow! I'm totally gobsmacked! I am at a loss for words so it's a good thing the ladies and gents covered all the compliments already. Let me first take a second to lift my jaw up from the floor and wipe my drool. Your piece is beyond amazing and I could spend hours looking at all the luscious details, textures, and embellishments. Your pipe work and the caged heart totally make the piece. Brilliant work! Thanks for playing along with us at Smudgy Antics :)
