Good morning all,
Wednesday has rolled along as it always does, it never changes but always catches us by surprise...... As always, Julia at Stamping Ground is the hostess for this mahoosive blog hop that we all love and cherish and are hopelessly addicted to too!
Here is my desk for you this week. Firstly the aeroplane shot.
All the usual bits and pieces are there. I've had to put my distress inks back; I've come to the conclusion that whatever I do they live there and I'm too used to it so everything else just doesn't feel right!
Now the colour is weird on these, I can promise you that these canvas flowers are NOT so orange IRL! They are on a tag and the tiny little tin is going to form part of this tag, still working on the details in my mind though!
Then this is the latest page in my art journal, the background is done with acrylic paints and the new Dyan Reavely stencils. The stamps are Celtic mythology ones from The Stamp Man. (and I drew the mountain for the dragon to sit on) I was just thinking about how we all have issues and problems that we have to deal with and that these are our Dragons...... but we can triumph over them and the page just developed from that. I like the way it ended up though, there are some lovely textures from the paint.
This last picture has some spare flowers; a flop paint technique and that interesting piece on the left is Tyvek, it does interesting things when you heat it so I was just having a little play! So there you have my little corner of creative paradise this week. I look forward to popping round to yours; though I'm busy preparing for Saturdays workshop and I have an appointment with a blowtorch too so I may not get round too many this week.

Oooo Tyvek, sounds like a character from Star Trek :) going to have to find some of that to play with! Those flowers do look very orange but oh so lovely to look at! Like the little tin, what did that have in it I wonder???? Have a good week!

Happy WOYWW, Debxx #14
Those flowers are great (whether they are orange or not) and so are your journal pages! You always have lovely creations here! RosA#16
Hi Neil,
The flowers look wonderful - very cool. I like how the dragon on top of the mountain came out and what it means. You are right, we all have those things that nag -- dragons, demons, monkeys on our backs. Need to let go.
Happy WOYWW

Now that looks like a proper desk!! looking forward to seeinf what you come up with the tyvek, I have never managed to do anything exciting with it
LoVe the "orange" flowers whatever colour they are IRL (just learnt that one!!!!) Can't wait to see your finished tag. LoVe the airplane shot too ... I am imagining all sorts of things as I wonder how you took it. I just mentioned to hubby that the person who inspired me to paint on embossed acetate is doing things with a blowtorch and before I'd got the words out he issued a stern "NO!!!!" Probably very wise. Happy Creating and Happy WOYWWing too! Debbie #54 xXx
love the rusty style of your flowers !
I, too am trying to get in as many desks as possible! Love your overhead shot - and the journal pages - fab, that dragon is great. Your flowers are great even in 'not really that orange'! Have a great day.helen 12.

I don't do WOYWW yet as mine is very boring but I like to sneak a look at other's desks. Absolutely love those flowers - waiting to see what happens to the tag & hoping for a tutorial post :) Julia
I have often wondered what that Tyvek stuff was used for! I think the flowers look great even in the orange colour. Great desk.

Have you turned your self into a fly on the wall? great pic. Love the tag - so far
Love the aerial shot. Did you stand on a very, very big chair or have you rigged up a harness from the ceiling? Mmm... not sure you want to answer that one.
Love the desk as always and it reminded me I have some Tyvek tucked away somewhere. I inked and heated into it into holes then didn't know what to do with it.

I just love your desk Neil, think I could live in your crafty shed! Beautiful tag in the making and I had no idea you could do that to tyvek, going to start pulling it off my house now, lol! As to the C***** cards, I make them on and off all year, saves the panic closer to the date!

I love tyvek! Makes brilliant binding... and takes distress inks really unusually :)
I love your desk - it's always so interesting - always something creative and amazing happening there. Your journal pages have just blown me away... astounding!
I'd almost forgotten about Tyvek. I remember playing with that a few years back. I'm sure I still have some sheets in my craft room somewhere buried away. You've motivated me to go and dig it out. Love your art journal pages. Impressed with the mountain drawing. What a talented guy you are. The tag is AWESOME! No other word does it justice. Love how you blend the colours. I always enjoy visiting your blog. Oh & does the blow torch involve masking tape by any chance? lol :) Pxx
Your tag is fab, the flowers look amazing and your art pages are great, like you say the textures really bring them to life. Take care, enjoy this WOYWW & I'm off to snoop some more! Wonder how many I'll get round today? Zo xx 60
The flowers are stunning, Neil, love the colour and the tag is fab. Hope you are having a good WOYWW. Elizabeth #22

Creative paradise indeed! Don't blame you about the the D.Inks, after all, you have to be entirely comfy when in full swing! I like the tin on the tag idea...unsurprisingly, have no ideas to offer for it!
Love your work desk! I happen to like a rusty rustic orange look so the flowers look good on my computer. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with the tin! Warmly, Tracy #96
I realize I am really late getting here, especially since I am #2. But I have had a terrible time keeping my computer running today. Seems it wants to shut down after I visit one blog. I thought the flowers were rusty metal when I saw them.
Happy WOYWW.
I can't WAIT to see what you do with your tin! I looks like a scrap-lifing technique in the making!!!!
Have a wonderful week!
OOh, love the busy desk, and the tag and art journal pages are awesome. Happy WOYWW
emilyxx
Love those flowers!
Why don't my journal pages ever turn out like that?!?!?!?!?!
Will be interesting to see how the tin develops too!
Happy WOYWW
Flowers are great I like celtic images though not tried anything on my cards - yet! Meant to pop and say hi last week and am late this week. Life is just too busy. Thanks for visiting last week. Anne x
I just blogged WOYWW about my canvas flowers I cut from a $2.00 canvas apron. I need to "do something" to finish them.
How do you do that lovely technique? Is that the distress inks or???
I am new to stamping so don't know how to accomplish this look!
Loved your desk this week!
What a busy desk you have! I love the colours on the flowers. Have a great week.

It's my first week with WYOWW and I'm quickly trying to work through to everyone's desk...its so exciting but I'm a little overwhelmed by all the talent.
You have a great creative space and so busy!
I enjoyed my peek at your desk ;D
Have a great crafty week...must dash and check out a few more desks! :D
Thanks so much for the quick answer back about the ink on the tags.
I do not own any sprays, or alchohal ink etc and will go purchase some today.
