I like it when two challenges can be covered with one shot, especially as this week is shaping up to be a week where time seems to be running away with me. This week SSS&Showyour masking and Sudio L3 CCC is distress masking. So here is my enrty for both of these.
I decided that I would make 8 x 8 scrapbook pages for the next challenges if I could and showcase some of my photos that I love but don't really "Tell a story" At least it gets them out of the drawer....

I followed the technique on page 60 of Tim's compendium of curiosities for the flourish using the negative of the maske, then overlayed the positive and stamped the flowers. I outlines and doodled around the edges just because I could. I distressed the edges of the photo with thepaper distress tool. I think my camera is overcompensating for the poor light as the colours on the page are a lot more intense in reality and a closer match for the photo.
Here is a close up showing the lovely pearl shimmer of the distress masking technique.

Neil, I thought it was so cool that Simon Says did a masking challenge the same week as the CCC! It wasn't planned, but it sure did work out nicely! You did a fabulous job on this lovely scrapbook page. The double-masking really added a sophisticated elegance, and the outline really makes it pop! Your photo is amazing, too!
