Journal cover

Hi there folks
Hope you are all well. It's been a busy old weekend for me; again not much I can share yet but what I have been doing as well has been working on the cover of my Dylusions journal in between everything and it's now finished for me to share!
I didn't want to add any bulky embellishments or anything so I hauled out my markers and black pen and just began to draw; this is the front of the journal.
This is the back of it.

Some detail shots. You can see how the colour bled a little as I sealed it with Matte Multi medium. I knew it would so I kept the brush strokes as even as I could. I like the result though so it's all good. It kind of makes the cover look a little like bamboo in my mind.
While I was busy I finished the inside cover too.
And the envelope got the treatment too! I just had to save this packing tape received on a packet from a blog friend and you can see on the left how there are layers and layers of inks and splodges from when I'm spraying pages as I always forget to cover that side! I'm sure that when this book is finished that section will be almost black from the build up!

It is now done, sealed and looks much better than the pain, ink splodged boring cover that it started of with. Now it's much more "me"
Hope you all have a great afternoon.

It worked really well and I bet you couldn't have achieved the same grainy effect if you had intended it to look like that. It's super.
Love the inside too.
Now I know where those moustaches came from but at first I thought you'd had a trip to Brighton!
I'm down there at the end of the month, minding 2 of the Curly Girlies, so if I can get to Tiger I'll send you a roll of it!
