Play Date Cafe Challenge 63

Over at the Cafe this week's colours are grass green, gold and silver. (The link to their blog is on my sidebar) This week I thought I would try something other than a card so dug out some chipboard frames that I had from Crafty Individuals for a while but was not quite sure where to use them! I used meadow and citrus alcohol inks to colour the frame then added some silver mixative and used blending solution to blend together. I repeated this for the inside square of a smaller frame, backed the frame with gold mirriboard and mounted the square onto that. I then added some microbeads in gold black and green for a bit of texture..... Then I hit a blank wall! After playing around with various things I remembered I had some inchie stamps of trees, out they came and hey presto job done.

I used the finished embellishment on a scrapbook layout. I kept everything clean and simple on the page as the photo is so large but I'm pleased with the end result. (And if anyone is confused about the wording, what planet are you from? Terry's chocolate orange and Dawn French tv advert.........)

On a last note, the weather is awful here so it is pretty difficult getting a decent photo in this light. The colours in the paper do actually match the embellishment!
Be blessed in your art today

That is a super COOL technique you used on that tile - the differing shades of green are beautiful. I love the use of the microbeads too. Great use of this week's colors at the PDCC.

I love your project this week, it's great! It was nearly overtaken by your picture of that fab giant lookalike segment of chocolate orange. Being a chocoholic it was very hard to tear myself away lol. Thanks for playing along with us at the PDCC this week!

What a fabulous rock, just like a Terry's, sorry Dawn's, chocolate orange segment! I'm just glad they brought a mint version out, I wasn't so keen on the orange one ;) Fab embellie for your LO. Love the crisp branches of the tree image contrasting with the soft greens and gold of the chipboard. Thanks so much for taking on the challenge this week in the play date cafe :)

The embellishment is fantastic, I love the way the colours blend and swirl into each other. Plus, it perfectly complements your scrapbook page. I have bookmarked your page to go and look over your other posts later on :) Px
