A new journal.

Good evening friends
I hope you are well, in one of my previous posts I shared a  part picture of one of my new journals; well here it is in detail for you. My starting point was my Squared Off book cover kit; however I wanted to use the kit slightly differently so I used the squares to create a pattern running up the centre of the front.

One of the things I do when I spraying inks and things is to cover my area with pieces of card and paper to protect the rest of my table. Over time these build up into interesting pieces which are too nice to throw away....in other words, the ideal thing to use for the pages of this journal.
Every page is different, some are more covered than others but they make a great starting point for pages.
Looking at the book covers as a whole here you can see how the back has been left flat with a textured centre piece
A closer view of the centre showing the texture.
The front has a similar textured cracked centre panel too. The main covers have around four layers of paint and stamping. The centre has metal squares in coppers and silvers and for detail along the bottom
I fastened a Tim Holtz handle to the base and a tiny Frozen Charlotte Doll glued and wired in place with the word wishful inside the handle.

Today also sees the new challenge word over at The Craft Barn Blog Quotes and Lyrics challenge, the  words this week are Art and/or Road.
This is my page for this week.

Right, I had better get back to the grindstone. hope you all have a great week ahead.

Cool journal covers. Love the tumbling blocks. I'm intrigued by the way you've bound it. Will have to study this a bit closer, being new to book making n all. Fab blue/green journal page. Great quote.
