That Craft Place new challenge and class pics

Good morning friends
I hope you are all well and that you have had a fun and creative weekend and are looking forward to a creative week too.
If you are looking for a fab challenge to get you going, this week sees the start of a new challenge over at That Craft Place Challenge Blog. It's an anything goes theme so nice and open and this challenge is sponsored by the lovely Ditzie Digital Designs.
There is plenty of inspiration on the blog and this is my contribution, I've used one of the background papers and the Miss Lily image as my focus to create a bit of a quirky journal page.

The focal point was created on a Tando Creative Mixed Media Board, all colouring is done using Distress Paint. The spider is also Tando and has been painted and embossed with clear UTEE with a gem added in between layers of the powder.

Yesterday was a busy day down at That Craft Place too as it was the first of my 4 journaling classes. Yesterday was spent mainly working with paints in various ways to create a delightful loose leaf journal to house all our pages as the course progresses. It was a fun day with everyone getting stuck in and getting mucky paws!
I arrived nice and early so had a moment to enjoy a cuppa looking out over the sea. A perfect way to start the day.
Class getting stuck in to the covers.....
All getting VERY focused and in the zone (Well except for a certain "Ditzie" lady who got slightly sidetracked.....
Getting to the final assembly stage and trying to remember which side to punch the holes.......

What I always enjoy about classes is seeing how differently everyone's results are even though we start out at the same place. The following pictures are of my journal....
The front cover - I decided to add this flower last night when I was home as the colours just seemed to work really well together.
I didn't glue the  cover elements together so we had more surface to practice using my masks with paints and because I like the flexibility it gives.
This is the inside solid cover.
We had a bit of time to explore a couple of backgrounds and the journalists bag of fun mark making tools....
Another background created just with paints, masks and wipes.....all in all, it was a great class and everyone seems to be looking forward to next month!
Also, I received these lovely chaps from Mickie, super cool vintage santas made from super light clay. Thanks Mickie, I love them!

Right, I hope you're still awake, it turned into a long post.
Take care and I'll catch up soon.
