Just when you thought you had my "STYLE" sussed ........

Good morning folks.
Something different from me today. I've decided that I don't want to be pigeon holed into a specific style of work, and also, just to push myself in a different direction sometimes is a good thing........
A little while ago I picked up a set of 3 flat "frames" from That Craft Place in Eastbourne. I was going to use them as a base for  some wall art but I thought "I wonder" (Ever have those?) and made this....
A vintage feel stand - can you see it filled with delectable macaroons; or sitting filled with jewellery in the bedroom?
Flowers tumble down the side, a combination of Tattered Florals and Poinsettia made using the same paper that the stand is covered in and metal foils.
Each layer of the stand is edged in lace before the flowers were hot glued in place. Yes, I may have got carried away with the flowers, but hey, one thing just led to another.......
The stands were made with over size cotton reels, starting with a large one and going smaller and thinner. Everything was glued down and to add strength I used a metal military button and wire to pull through from the top and hold everything in place.
It was a fun project; very different for me but enjoyable nonetheless.

I'm off to Eastbourne today. I'll be at That Craft Place, 32 Pevensey Road BN21 3HP Eastbourne from 10:30. So if you are in the area, It'd be lovely to see you!
Telephone 01323 301226
Have yourselves a lovely day.

I adore this Neil, and yes, centre piece on a Christmas buffet table, was what came immediately to my mind. I totally love this and the flowers down the side look fantastic and not over the top at all I think, totally suits the shabby chic style, which (I may add) you have mastered perfectly. A fab idea!! I wished I loved a bit closer, hope you have loads of fun at the workshop!

Brilliant idea! Has to be for jewellery - wouldn't want any food to spoil it!
