Fabric book

Hi there friends.
Well it seems to have been a whirlwind around here recently. Today though, I'm here to share a fabric book with you as well as a full step by step tutorial for one of the techniques I used which will follow in a post  after this HERE.

The book.....
A while ago I picked up a fabric book that was made up of 4 "pages", all sewn together and ready to alter. One day I was looking at it and wondering what to do with it when I realised that if I unpicked the center seam I would have four pieces to use as covers ....... this is one of those covers.
I coloured the cotton with Melted Chocolate Dylusions ink. The front panel has been created with layers of Treasure Gold and enamel onto embossed card (See the tutorial for full details) The fish is one of those I created from UTEE and metal foil using Kaz's tutorial.
This is the back panel. Slightly different to the front, more colour in this one. The panels are attached with fake screw brads. and the side bands are stapled into place with the Tiny Attacher.
 The open book

What I like about these covers is that two pieces of fabric have already been sewn together so by carefully cutting the inside with a pair of scissors I created a removable cover for the notebook so when it is full I can replace the book easily.

Here you can see what I mean about the loose cover.

So, hope you like it; I'll get cracking on the tutorial for the panels and post that shortly. Catch you later.

Fabulous cover! Love the enameled panels. I'll be trying this technique. Which Kaz? For the fish tutorial? Thank you for sharing your techniques!

Love the mix of fabric and paper and of course the grungy look, you've created.
