WOYWW 203 and a giveaway

Good morning friends
I hope this finds you all well and happy. Time sure is flying past at a rate of knots if it is Wednesday already! Time to join in the big desk hop as decreed by Julia at Stamping Ground

Here is my desk, with no artificial lighting, just an open door at 6 30 am.......

Fairly respectable I think this morning, probably because Mark was here on Monday and I didn't do much yesterday in here!
Busy working on this journal page, that's as far as I got, now I'm wondering where it wants to go next....
Some embellishments waiting to be painted (or packed away, whichever comes first)
Started doing something on this canvas with Distress Paint and the Wild West stamps from Tim. Wasn't happy with the first try so covered it up with more paint ready to start again. It's been one of those times where I want to do stuff but can't quite settle in a direction.

One last thing, for those of you who visit me that have a Wordpress blog; I am sorry but for some reason when I visit you I cannot leave a comment. It asks for a password but doesn't recognise it when I do. So I do visit but unfortunately you never know!

So there's my world this morning.
I'm also doing a giveaway so check out my next post!
Have a great week fellow WOYWWers and all you other lovely peeps who visit me here.

I do like distress paint, you can layer it till you are happy. The more paint you use the easier it is to get that marble look, too much water and it becomes a bit messy in my opinion...not the easiest stuff to work with, but fun.

Hi Neil! I just LOVE your art journal pages, they are really speaking to me! I know what you mean when sometimes you just don't know what direction to take a project and then some others you just know and they flow easily! But I like your canvas and actually seeing a glimpse of the stamps underneath. I always say there are no mistakes, only creative explosions that turn into masterpieces.

That's a lovely shot of your desk bathed in natural light! It just makes me feel so much better having all this sunshine around. Last night, as I was driving through the forest en route to band practise, I saw two barn owls, red kites, hares and male pheasants glowing in the sunset....wished I'd had a camera!! Sorry, I'm rambling here....I love the tealy blue journal page, gorgeous colour that floats my boat :)
Hugs. LLJ 22 xx

I do like your blue journal pages and the feather stamp. It's good to know that other folk aren't hapy with what they've done so they hide it under another layer of paint. I look forward to seeing how it turns out. Thank you for your visit earlier. Always nice to see you over at my desk. Kate #40

It's great to know that you don't always know the finish when you start and I'm glad other people sometimes bury things under another layer of paint.

Loving your desk this week Neil...as I do every time I look at it! The feathers in your journal look so light; pretty cool effect. And the color on the canvas is FABULOUS. Sometimes I think that actually painting most of the canvas over gives you not only a new starting place, but a depth you couldn't get otherwise. Happy creating this week.

I know what you mean when you can't figure out a painting, you start one way leave for a min and then next thing you know your somewhere else. Funny how that goes, I've had some paintings with more layers then I'd like to admit on it lol Happy WOYWW

I love visiting your desk, there's always so much happening. Love your journal page. I'm having troubles with direction in art too, must be something in the air, or in my case, computers annoying me too much.
Have a great week.

Hi Neil,

Nice busy desk! I do love working with paints -- if you don't like how something is turning out you can always start over!!! The stamps look interesting. Since I live in the southwest I should check them out.
