First WOYWW of 2013 (#187)

Goodly morning everybody.
So, here we are at the beginning of another year. Here's wishing you all the best for 2013, may it bring you nothing but joy, peace and prosperity.
My desk for What's on your Workdesk Wednesday 187 this week (The brainchild of Julia - details HERE) is not my shed/studio this week but the floor in my lounge as I'm squeezing in as much family time as I can while all my chicks are home.
Bit of a blurry pic, sorry, but this is what I'm busy with at the moment.
Not quite sure where this page is going to end up but at least I'm progressing in my first page of my Dylusions journal. I'm definitely not used to the size compared to my usual journals.
The pile of essential inks, pads and pens
This scrumptious book is the book I'm using for my journal in a jar gift. Isn't it fabulous?! You can just see the jar on the left hand side but more about that later.
Stamps, Dylusions, images, all stamped and ready to cut and use. Charcoal, watercolour brushes all ready and waiting too. So there you have my creative space this morning. Next week I'll be back into my usual routine I guess so I'll see you in the studio!

While you are here, thought you may like to see some of my crafty gifts this year? I just love these straws though they won't stay that way for long. Keep a look out for them appearing on a project soon! Clue - think steampunk...) Then there's this lovely clock face stamp, self inking and really cool. Then, a special gift, my journal in a jar from my wife.
This journal, tooled leather and hand made paper pages is really lovely, though I've chosen to use the bigger book you saw for my journalling and I'll use this for something else. The jar has hundreds of tiny rolled up pieces of paper inside, each one with a question, thought or prompt. The idea is that you take one out, stick it to the journal page, enjoy the memories and then journal them. So in the end, you have written the story of you (or in my case, written and drawn it) A really special gift which I have already begun but will share that with you another day.
Hope you all have a special and creative day, whatever you may be doing.

Hi Neil Happy New Year. As always a great selection of things to look at. I have had an idea in my head similar to journal in a jar for a couple of years (mainly because I have a big pile of quotes I've never known what to do with). I like the idea of rolling them up so may have to try, might be a giveaway later in the year! Thanks for the inspiration!!

Changing the size you work is always hard, but I think it's also very rewarding. I think you'll come to lie it, once you're used to the challenge. Good luck.
