A little catch up.......

Good morning all.
Hope this finds you all well. I did warn you that I'd be a little scarce here for a few weeks. So what's been going on in my life.....
I've helped smash a world record in Hastings

We're in there somewhere, among the 14231 pirates!

Then; for the first time in 12 years my mom in law had all her children and grandchildren on one continent and all together.

along with MIL's two sisters, their eldest daughters who also live in the UK. How funny is that; 3 sisters in SA whose eldest children all emigrated here.....and the rest of the husbands, kids.....

I haven't see the inside of my craft room for a while now but over at The Craft Barn HERE it's Impression Obsession and Stampbord week so here is a picture of the project and all the details and more photos can be found by following the link .

Right; better dash, I'm trying to get some things done before everyone wakes up so be blessed everyone and I'll catch you later!

What the postman brought......

Good morning everyone.
Been so busy preparing for visitors (why is it so important to get the "first impressions" right I wonder sometimes?) that I keep forgetting to share this fabulous cigar box I received from Eileen, my swap partner for this swap on the kindred spirits forum.
I just love all the keys on the lid and the textures of the card are brilliant, almost like old leather.
The sides have been covered with images and again, the colour and textures are fabulous. Don't you just love the chain "garland around the edges? Eileen has used the wooden bingo letters for feet which I thought was clever too.
The inside is pretty cool too with all the tissue tape on the top lid and the painted and masked paper too.
But it didn't stop there as Eileen had filled the box with goodies too!
A district market note book, a moldable foam stamp. (I've wanted one for ages and never seen one so this was a real blessing!) I love the ATC the layers and texture are fab and the sentiment very apt, then some lovely vintage ephemera and a stamped statue of Liberty. All wrapped in gorgeous rainbow ribbon.

I feel truly blessed to have received this from someone whose blog I have followed almost from when I first started blogging and whose work inspired me; so thank you Eileen. It has pride of place in my lounge as my wife wouldn't let me take it to my studio! Too nice she said!

I've been working in my garden quite a bit too over the last few days so here's a photo. We've a special 80th birthday celebration here soon so it needs to look good!

Enjoy your day everyone. Hope you get some creative time too.

WOYWW #163

Morning folks and welcome to my world. This weekly desk hop is hosted as ever by Julia at
Stamping ground so pop on over for desks galore!
Mine has been semi neglected this week  as the first of my overseas visitors arrived, with two more lots arriving soon, it's going to be a busy summer. Still; you are here to see my desk not listen to my babbling so here it is. Firstly, the overview.
In the front is this book of fantasy artists. From a child I LOVED these images. The pen and ink work is exquisite. so finding the in a book was a real treat.
Behind that is this canvas gifted to me from Mark at Spesh ink. It's great isn't it.
I picked these fab buttons up at an antiques fair. They are super great!
Lastly in this corner, some stuff from my favourite shop; The Craft Barn! Paper Artsy's crunchy paper, Tando shapes and this fab new stamp. A card I'd made ages ago and the genesis of a project.
So, there's my world today. Hope you all have a blessed and creative day wherever you are.
