Here we go; 12 Tags of Christmas day 1

Hi there everyone; yes it has finally dawned; this morning at 8am UK time the world wide mania that is Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of Christmas has begun......... now I was so eager to get started that I did a couple of tags on "Tag eve" ie 30 November so I thought I'd share those with you before going onto my interpretation of Tim's amazing tag!

I was pretty pleased with the way they came out and it got me definitely geared up for this morning's launch!
I decided to start as I imagined Tim to start; with a festive Starbucks!
You can find Tim's post HERE with all the videos, step by step pictures and finished tag.
This is my interpretation of it
So; to begin my heart sank, I do not have the cardstock, pinecone die, noel die or banner die,nor the embossing folder, or even the same trim! But I do have the festive foliage die......
But I did follow the techniques in my own way. What I enjoy about the tags is being creative with my supplies so I coloured my base tag with stormy sky distress ink and embossed with one of Tim's flourish folders. I'd used the technique before but not with white powder and I love the way it turned out. I cut my Noel freehand and glittered with blue glitter.
Instead of using different coloured card I coloured a card with various distress inks before cutting out the foliage.

I used real pine cones and some pearl brads and an old earring at the top. The organza ribbon was coloured with distress ink too.
Here's some of the detail
So tag one is done and will be hung in my lounge; my first decoration of the season. Roll on tomorrow for day two!
Have fun everyone and if you are joining in with the magic I look forward to seeing your on his blog too.

Great tags. Like you, the only thing die I have is the foliage one, and I also have some tiny pine cones, real ones, I am hoping to use. Will have to be inventive !

Have fun with all the 12 tags.

All gorgeous tags, Neil, and I'm more than a little impressed that you cut the 'Noel' freehand - I'd never dare! Like the colouring of the card before cutting out the leaves. Off to peak at TH's label, but yours is stunning. Elizabeth

At least you had the foliage die - that's one more than me and your beautiful tag shows it's not about what you have but what you do with it.Looking forward to see what you do for tomorrow's tag

Love your idea for the foliage! I think not having all the supplies forces us to be more creative, and that's what it's all about. Great tag!
