Hi there everyone
It's tag week over at Try it on Tuesday and this week we want you to dig out a stamp that you've had for ages but never actually used!
I know that I sometimes bought a stamp because it caught my eye in the shop, or it was on offer but when I got it home I wondered why I bought it! This stamp is one such a stamp, a Papermania medallion stamp......
So out it came, blinking in the sun and was used to create the background on this tag.
I used aged mahogany and pine needles distress ink to colour the tag, liberally sprayed with water and when dry stamped the design in coffee archival ink.
The acetate and glittered butterfly was toned down to suit with alcohol ink and attached.
I made a ruffle with Tim Holtz tissue tape and used some glittered green ribbon to edge it. I used the same ribbon with some other fibres for the top too.
Now that I've hauled it out I think it will appear as a background design more than once as I like it rather than the usual cut and layered effect these stamped are normally used for! There is loads more samples and inspiration from the rest of the team over at Try it on Tuesday so hopefully I'll see you there......
Have a fab day everyone and enjoy your creative journey.

I agree, as a background it has a lot of uses..my unused stamps are largely the ones in the clear sets that surround the 'main' image..I should address that. Love the tag that came from your reluctant stamp!
I brought quite a few of these stamps and have never used any of them .....now its time to have a go after seeing your inspirational tag
hugs
Wonderful tag :)
Hi Neil, That's a great medallion, I've always liked the larger stamps like this as backgrounds. Your tag is beautiful and I love how you've layered the images, crossing as they do is so much more interesting! Great tag! Gay xx
Great tag Neil and great use of that forgotten medallion stamp. xxx
What a great background it makes! and I love the butterfly.
I love that backgound stamp and I love the colouring backgound...that butterfly is beautiful too!
