The Craft Barn Challenge 2

Hi there, the challenge over at the Barn is to use one of the techniques using your scraps of paper and card.
I've chosen Michelle's paper weaving. I think this is a great use of  all those bits of lovely papers......
click here to go the the Craft Barn blog to find out more.

I used a pile of left over strips of  embossed and painted strips of silver card that I've had for ages .... /the weaving suits them perfectly.
Anyway, here is the card I made
I just love how the weaving of the strips creates such an exciting textural background. I stamped the bird (Crafty Individuals) onto a dull pewter paper in black stazon (It seemed to fade in a bit so the finish of the stamped image is almost a gunmetal grey. I mounted it onto black card then onto the weaving. I then covered it liberally with glossy accents. While it was still wet I layed some chain from an old bracelet into the glaze. To finish it used some spare card to create a couple of "dangly" charms with a butterfly and hung on chain.
Overall, a pretty masculine card but I do  like it very much, so much in fact that it may end up in my personal journal!
Have a great day. Here is a close up just for fun.

Love the woven effect, Neil. I've done it by weaving first and then embossing the whole piece, but not the way you did it. Stunning! Love all of the hanging bits, too. xxD
