How charming.........

Yes, tacky title, I know. Good morning friends.

This morning sees the start of a new challenge over at That Craft Place where the theme is Charming - charms are something I think we crafters have a pile of so this week we want to see them used.....
I decided to alter a shoe shaped box which is something different for me and this is the end result. An Emergency Shoe Fund, something which no self respecting Cinderella should be without. After all, you never know when you may lose a slipper and Prince Charming may not find it.....

 I glued some die cut cogs to the book and painted everything with layers of DecoArt paints, and Metallic Lustre was rubbed over to add some highlights

 I added some feathers to the top of the boot and attached a key charm on a chain too. This chain keeps the box closed too and when you want to open it you just flip it over. I used a piece of black card to make a "hinge" on the base to keep the two pieces together too. (You don't want your savings to fall out the bottom of your shoe do you?)

I used a craft knife to carefully cut an opening on the top so money can be popped inside so that you can save away for that pair of shoes.......
