Hi there everyone.
Been having a bit of a play this morning before I have to head off to work. If you are anything like me I know you always try to get the most out of your craft supplies, especially the dies. Well, Fanciful flight was the first Tim Holtz die I bought as I really liked it, but there is a limit to how many butterflies you can use on projects so it does seem to hang around doing nothing quite a bit.......... But not any more! I was sitting and thinking a bit, yes, very dangerous, I know but I wondered whether I could use the die in another way.
The short answer is yes, you can make flowers with it! like this one on this gift box
I love it, let's go closer
No, not that close (But that looks pretty cool too!)
That's better. I have done a step by step here so you can see how I made it but the summary is 9 large wings, 8 small, some tissue flowers, a button and a box or 12 x 12 layout to display. (The step by step will also show the steps I used for covering the box.)
Hope you enjoy it! Be blessed this weekend........
I love this!!! I've not bought that die as I thought it very limiting - as you said, how many butterflies can one make? But this flower - love it!! TFS!
ReplyDeleteFab, fab, fab Neil. Just love how you have used the die to make this flower, creativity at it's best.

Oh Wow, I don't have that die and now I'm itching to get my hands on it. Neil this is inspired thinking indeed! (ps. 99.99% of your creations ARE inspired thinking)
ReplyDeleteWonderful Neil and thanks for the step by step too! Kim
ReplyDeleteOh now look at you with that flower! What a fabby brain you have! Really, you should e-mail Mr. Holtz a copy of that! He would like that, I am sure! Thank you so much for the kind comment on my blog! Love this flower!
ReplyDeleteNeil, Love what you did with this die! This is the first of Tim's dies I bought too. His dies are so versatile, but I had not thought of the flower for this one. Love the way you think!
