My retreat box

Goodly day everyone.
When I posted about the retreat weekend I did not show my box to you so I thought I would rectify that today. (Since, truth be told I have only just got round to putting the hinges on!)
So here we go
So, this is the top view. The box was gessoed and painted. Then a script stamp was stamped onto tissue and adhered randomly before everything was inked. I then departed from everyone elses sewing theme (No real suprise there, is there) I used a Katzelkraft horse stamp plate to add images then instead of the tailor dummy I cut cogs out of mountboard, triple embossed with autumn gold embossing powder and stamped into the last later with a crackle stamp. AMAZING TEXTURE!!!!!

I cut some cogs in shrink plastic too. Some gold rub n buff was added to highlight. The hinges are rusted grunge with distress embossing powder.

Inside the box I roughly coloured and adhered tissue before stamping another horse. I covered this in glossy accents in sepia and added a triple embossed flourish and a spare cog.
So there you have it folks; a "manly" take on a sewing embellishment box! Hope you enjoy and have a blessed day.

  10. Hello! I love the box. Will you tell me what tool you used to cut the cogs out of the mountboard? I'm thinking of using my Dremmel, but not sure that's the best idea. Thank you.
