Journey into Moonshadow world.....

Hi there everone.
I never got to doing any crafting yesterday; which will explain why I woke up this morning with the shivers, shakes and the sniffles.... no not a cold, rather they are the classic symptoms of creative withdrawal!
So I dosed myself up with a good fix of inky fingers and had an amzing morning experimenting with some Moonshadow inks and Moonglow two toned embossing powders. To give you a taster.....
Hard to believe that this started out as just a plain white piece of copier paper!
If you have never used these before, you don't know what you are missing! I have not had this much fun for ages. These inks are a walnut stain with mica inside.
If you just use one colour you will get this effect.....

If you combine different colours and techniques you will get different results every time, and really quick to make a whole batch ready to use later.

Then if you stamp and emboss with the Moonglow two tone embossing powder over the prepared background you can get this

Depending on the light this is either red or gold (Or both!)

This was made using Moonshadow ink in Buccaneer blue onto a pearl cream card, scrunching  and unfolding while wet. When dry Moonglow two tone embossing pwder was added in midnight teal obsidian. When cool I used distress ink in faded jeans and brushed corduroy.
Then after all that play I had to make something using it so made this quick little book
The texture of the background is so fab I just used an ornate bookplate with an adage ticket and some gold microbeads to it. Isn't it great? I got the Moonshadow products and the stamp from The Stampman. They also have a DVD that outlines the various techniques.
I love it and am off to play some more...... so I'll speak to you later. Be blessed whatever you do today.

  1. Love these products Neil, they work so well with a grunge technique but have been around so long people have forgotten about them. Bout time they were back on the A list, especially when they can be used to create such fantastic pieces as this one. Not used embossing powders on them much - must have a go!
