Good morning friends.
Welcome to my whirlwind. Once I returned from South Africa I thought that I would have time to catch my breath a bit and begin to work on spending some quality creative time.......
Well, instead of that, my wife and I bought a house instead LOL.
Like many folks, we harboured a dream of selling up, leaving the rat race and moving to the country to live a simpler more creative life. For many it remains a dream but we have taken the plunge and bought a bit of a fixer upper in the beautiful Eden Valley in Cumbria. Totally impulsive in many ways but when we saw it advertised we actually climbed in the car and drove the 300 miles to view it.
Fell in love with it, seeing past the state of it to what it could become with love and care, we had our offer accepted and should complete within the next few weeks.
It even has a gorgeous (filthy) barn, perfect for a studio space....lots of character and some very dodgy wallpapers too. I'm sure that there will be plenty of hidden surprises along the way to restoration but it is so very exciting.
So, if I'm a little quiet on the creative front, do forgive me, and I will squeeze in some projects along the way......

ReplyDeleteCongratulations to you and your wife! Your new abode looks totally charming and homey. All the work will be well worth it, and you don't have to do it all at once. Best of luck and joy!
ReplyDeleteWell done Neil. Something we all dream of but never have the courage to do. Have fun.
