Simon says and CCC challenge 27 entry

I like it when two challenges can be covered with one shot, especially as this week is shaping up to be a week where time seems to be running away with me. This week SSS&Showyour masking and Sudio L3 CCC is distress masking. So here is my enrty for both of these.
I decided that I would make 8 x 8 scrapbook pages for the next challenges if I could and showcase some of my photos that I love but don't really "Tell a story" At least it gets them out of the drawer....
The links to both these blogs are on my sidebar and blog list so come on in and join the fun.
I followed the technique on page 60 of Tim's compendium of curiosities for the flourish using the negative of the maske, then overlayed the positive and stamped the flowers. I outlines and doodled around the edges just because I could. I distressed the edges of the photo with thepaper distress tool. I think my camera is overcompensating for the poor light as the colours on the page are a lot more intense in reality and a closer match for the photo.

Here is a close up showing the lovely pearl shimmer of the distress masking technique.

Be blessed in what you create today

  1. Fab masking, it somehow reminds me of Japanese prints of sea and waves. Your scrapbook page looks really great.

  14. Neil, I thought it was so cool that Simon Says did a masking challenge the same week as the CCC! It wasn't planned, but it sure did work out nicely! You did a fabulous job on this lovely scrapbook page. The double-masking really added a sophisticated elegance, and the outline really makes it pop! Your photo is amazing, too!
