Hi there
It's 10:45 pm and I'm tired but I missed last week so here is my desk this week... Late, blurry photos but you'll understand I trust.
Some lovely Dyan Reavely stuff being played with.
The colours are pretty vibrant IRL Don't you love those stamps; I do.
Some flowers drying, they are for the item peeking out from the right of the pic just to tease you.
Lastly, something for an upcoming class; also just because I'm a tease.........
So, all because of Julia at Stamping Ground, that's my desk. Follow the link for many more. Have yourselves a blessed and creative day.

Hands up

HI there folks
Yes, I know, there's not too much going on here at the moment. I've had so much happening that finding the time to actually blog about some of what I've been doing. I also want to keep some surprises for the visitors to the extravaganza this weekend!
But here is something; my first attempt at a fantasy weapon!
I have wanted to do something like this for ages but it was only last week that I actually found the right style "weapon" and decided to give it a go. I'm pretty pleased with the end result. Still some touch ups to do but as a learning experience it was good.

I used metal foil tape to do the back section. Alcohol inks add colour and black paint.

Not bad for a 99p toy really..........
Have fun, now I'd better see if my other stuff is dry so catch you later!
If you are in the area of The Craft Barn over the coming weekend; I hope you'll pop in and say hi, I'll be having a good time all weekend with Dylusions, Distress stains and Distress markers. All the details of this amazing event can be fond HERE.

Fran-tage at The Craft Barn

Good morning folks
It's Monday so that means a new theme over at The Craft Barn blog and this week we're looking at the Stampendous Fran-tage range.
I'm kicking it off this week with a tag for you using some of the aged embossing powders and mica fragments.
I started out with a pre printed Crafty Individuals tag as my base and added Victorian velvet distress stain and some perfect pearl mist over and let dry.
I mixed UTEE crystals, glossy accents and metallic powder together to create a "sand" which I added to the bottom and also to the top right hand side of the tag. I added some pearlised mica fragments to the tag too. The flower is tattered floral, embossed with aged ivory and aged taupe powders.
The image was stamped onto card, coloured with distress markers and ink blended over once torn and everything assembled as seen with some lace along the bottom and also to tie!

Book

Good morning everyone
I hope you are managing to get in some creative time this weekend. I'm having a busy one as I taught a book class at The Craft Barn on Friday and I'm heading off there again this morning to teach my Doorway to the Imagination class.
So I thought I'd share the book we made on Friday
Starting from scratch; we began by discussing the basics of bookmaking and then it was needles out as we began to create signatures and sew them together.....possibly not everyone's favourite part of the day but you can't have a book without any pages inside, can you?
The covers were made up by creating a random patchwork of embossed designs before adding the layers of colour and shimmer.
The endpapers of the book were created from stamped and inked card too before the book was assembled and bound.
Lastly the final touch, Feathers from Africa, a little face and some bark creates an unusual cover embellishment too.
As always, it was a great class, everyone's books looking so different and fabulous so thank you ladies for a great day.

Hope you all squeeze in some creativity today, wherever you are!

Tag to go.....

Hi there everyone
I hope this finds you well. I'm kinda getting on top of things I think though others may disagree. Anyway, I thought I'd share this tag with you today. Why the title; well this tag is winging itself off to America as it was done for a swap on a forum I'm part of. Hope the recipient likes it.
I cut the tag out of mount board and painted the background before masking and adding some sea detail.
The image was stamped onto card, cut out and coloured with distress markers.  So were the fish!
To make the "sand" I took some UTEE crystals, a couple of scoops of perfect pearls and mixed everything with glossy accents. Spread on with a palette knife and add some tiny shells and let dry.
Some baubles and ribbon to finish.
Hope you enjoy the rest of the day, even if it's not as nice as yesterday!

LOOK -

Good morning folks
Hope this finds you all well. I've been absent for a while I know; I have SO much I'm trying to do for
The Craft Barn Extravaganza 30 June/1 July. I hope you are coming along. There is so much to see over the two days it will be worth it! Follow the link above to go to the details page and start making your plans!
I've also been up to Liverpool to fetch my daughter as she has finished her foundation course (Passed with Merit so Dad VERY proud!) Uni in September so will be back up then!
Anyway, here is a bit of what I'm sharing today over at The Craft Barn blog. The details of how are HERE.
I really enjoyed working with these large letters and when I saw them the thing that sprang to mind was one of my favourite scriptures "Look to the hill's; from whence cometh my help? My help comes from The Lord."  from Psalm 121 so that's what I did.
I hope you like it. Now I need to get back to work so I'll catch you all later! Be blessed in all you do today.

Memory box dies at The Craft Barn

Good morning everyone.
This week over at The Craft Barn we're looking at Memory box dies. These are a very popular range and really lend themselves to lovely elegant cards so this week it's card week and today I'm sharing along with Karen over on the blog HERE.
For me; my colour palette for elegant cards is always black and white so that is what I went for and this is my card.
A very simple  layout. The detail of these dies are lovely. For the tank you I used just the outside section of the Inside Out die. It's a bit fiddly in some ways but the best thing to use is multi medium as when it dries you can't see anything so it's very forgiving!

Hope you like it. Have yourself a lovely day.

Here are the products I used. Also this week there's a special offer. Spend £30.00 and in your parcel you'll get a £5.00 voucher.
